Love everything about this cake. Ir reminds be of a cake I had in Northern Spain, the Tarta de Santiago. It's make with crushed almonds and has a generous amount of powdered sugar on top. You can find it in most cafes around the area and I couldn't get enough of it when we traveled through.

What a beautiful cake. Such a good way to use cherries. This would be a splurge for me, but I'd happily eat it!

Becky - What a fantastic memory. Sounds like I'll need to go to Spain to compare cake notes :)

Kalyn - Perhaps I'll bring one alone to our salad get together!
